Introduction to the Thailand mission trip
Thailand is an independent country that is located in Southeast Asia. Thailand is one of the most devout Buddist countries in the world. The national religion is Theravada Buddhism which is practiced by more than 94.7% of all Thais. Muslims make up 4.6% and .7% belong to other religion. Thailand is ruled by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Thailand experienced rapid economic growth between 1985 and 1995 and today is a newly industrialized country with an emphasis on exports and a flourishing tourism industry.
We will be partnering with the Integrated Tribal Development Program which focuses on reaching hill tribes of northern Thailand. The focus of this ministry is to spread the love of Jesus to tribal villages by building fresh water systems for individual villages. Mike and Becky Mann are our contacts in Thailand. We are taking a group to Thailand from Mountview next summer to complete a week of ministry and work alongside Mike and Becky. We will be conducting a VBS, building a fresh water system, and spreading the word of Christ to the people in the village where we are working.

I’m thrilled to see that you are bringing a group to Thailand next year!!! How wonderful that Mike and Becky will be able to have you come and do a water project. I’m sure it will be a trip of a lifetime. Please let me know when you work out the dates and other details so that we can schedule you in to visit the New Life Center.
